According to the company, it improves gas safety by automatically stopping the gas supply when fire occurs and the ambient temperature reaches 203-212°F. This prevents gas lines from becoming torches and feeding the fire. It is designed to work without any manual intervention. The FireBag is installed in the pipes that supply gas to ranges, ovens, wall heaters, boilers, or any gas appliance. It is available with a CSA-approved (ANSI Z21.15) manual gas shut-off valve, or as an independent fitting.
