Optimas Solutions announced Thursday that it has opened a new headquarters for its European operations.
The fastener and Class-C components distributor — no. 24 on ID’s latest Big 50 list — moved from its former facility in Sarreguemines, France, to a nearly 65,000-square-foot facility roughly four miles away in Hambach, France.
The building can accommodate 9,500 pallets and has more than 15,000 square feet of office space. It employs a staff of more than 70 across sourcing, supply chain, engineering, quality, sales and operations roles, as well as a team dedicated specifically to tunnel projects.
Optimas officials called the new location a “bespoke distribution hub” that would strengthen operational efficiency and supply chain security in Europe. It will serve OEMs and suppliers across the automotive, agriculture, semiconductor and other industries.
Optimas says it now supports more than 500 customer locations across 30 countries in Europe, as well as manages over 3,000 parts from 400 suppliers in the region. In addition to the Hambach hub, the company operates five facilities in the U.K. and another in Turkey.
The company, based in suburban Chicago, also has operations in Mexico, China, Japan, India and Singapore.
“Our operations in Europe have grown considerably in the past few years, and this strategic investment enables us to meet our customers' needs and provide further growth opportunities in the region,” Optimas International CEO Mike Tuffy said in the announcement.
