Wire and cable master distributor Distributor Wire & Cable opened a “unique” new facility in West Texas earlier this month, company officials announced.
DWC said that the Midland complex would provide faster service to electrical distributors operating in the Permian Basin region. Previously, its customers in the Permian received their orders from facilities in Dallas or Houston, which added at least a day to their delivery timeframes.
The company said that its local customers can now get local will-call pickup and same-day cut-to-length service. DWC CEO Travis Williams said that for those customers, “what used to take two days now walks out [of] our will-call counter the same afternoon.”
The company said that its Midland inventory includes aluminum, portable cord, instrumentation cable and tray cable, and added that it would maintain “unique hours of operation” in order to meet local customer requirements.
“We're not chasing this market; we're already in it,” Williams said in the announcement, “and now we're closer to the distributors who've been buying from us here for years."
