Salt Lake City MRO distributor Industrial Supply Company said Tuesday that it has purchased additional property to expand its headquarters — both now and in the future — following what it called a “record-setting year.”

The new property, located directly east of its longtime headquarters, means that Industrial Supply Company now owns the entire block on Salt Lake City’s near south side. The company, founded in 1916, moved to the current headquarters in 1964.

The addition, which features over 18,000 square feet of warehouse and office space, will help alleviate the company’s capacity needs, as well as optimize inventory flow and increase efficiency, officials said. It also, they added, “lays the groundwork” for additional, long-term development — “opening the door for a larger, integrated distribution center in the years ahead.”

Industrial Supply Company CEO Jessica Yurgaitis said the purchase “represents one of the most significant investments in our recent history.”

“This is more than a physical expansion,” Yurgaitis said in a statement. “It is a direct investment in our 250 team members, our customers, and the Salt Lake City community that has supported us for decades.”

The company said that planning and site evaluations for the new facility will begin "immediately.”

Industrial Supply Company operates nine locations across Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming and Texas.
