F.W. Webb Company on Monday opened a new store and warehouse that officials said would “significantly” expand the company’s capabilities in the Buffalo, New York, market.

The 140,000-square-foot facility in Amherst, New York, features a 65,500-square-foot warehouse, a 12,500-square-foot self-serve counter area, a three-acre paved outdoor storage yard, and a training center that can accommodate over 40 people. The company relocated its Buffalo wholesale counter to the new facility, along with more than 40 employees; F.W. Webb indicated that it plans to add 15 additional workers in Amherst.

The Buffalo location, meanwhile, will become a valve repair, testing and maintenance shop operated by F.W. Webb subsidiary the Alliance Specialty Group.

F.W. Webb expanded into the Buffalo area through its 2022 acquisition of Stritt and Prieb Inc., and COO Bob Mucciarone said that the new facility would help the company capitalize on the "significant opportunity" in that market.

"Our team is ready to make an immediate difference for the skilled trades and support industrial, institutional and infrastructure projects throughout the region,” Mucciarone said in a statement.

Massachusetts-based F.W. Webb is the no. 12 company on ID’s newest Big 50 List.
