Winsupply announced Tuesday that it has added a new “local company” subsidiary outside Baltimore.
Winsupply of East Baltimore, a provider of fire suppression products and fabrication services, officially began operations at the beginning of June. It operates a campus that includes two buildings and features a will-call counter, warehouse and fabrication shop.
The business initially shared the site in Rosedale, Maryland, with Baltimore Windustrial, which subsequently moved to a new, larger location in Middle River, Maryland, at the end of August. Jason Brown, the new subsidiary’s president, joined Baltimore Windustrial — led by his brother, Vince Brown — after 20 years in “corporate and leadership roles at a national pharmacy chain” with a goal of becoming another local company president. Winsupply’s local companies are majority-owned by the Ohio distributor with stakes owned by the local business' leadership.
“I didn’t need any convincing that entrepreneurship and the ‘Spirit of Opportunity’ was real because I already saw my brother become a local company president and the ways it changed his life,” Jason Brown said in a statement.
Winsupply of East Baltimore and its staff of 12 serves the Baltimore area and would bolster Winsupply’s position in the “bustling” Mid-Atlantic market, the company said. It is among the area’s only Victaulic grooved line product distributors, which has already helped expand its market presence, officials added.
The business expects to hold a grand opening and customer appreciation event next spring.
Winsupply is the no. 3 company on ID’s newly released Big 50 list.
