Sonepar subsidiary Viking Electric is preparing to nearly double the size of its branch in southern Minnesota, company officials announced Tuesday.
Viking plans to close its existing Mankato location at the end of next week and open its new facility, located two blocks away, the following Monday.
The new location will have more than 36,000 square feet of space, compared to 20,000 at the current branch, including 27,500 square feet of warehouse space and 2,300 square feet of counter space. It will also feature four delivery route doors, two dedicated shipping and receiving doors, and an at-grade vehicle door located next to its will-call counter.
“This larger Viking Electric facility in Mankato provides a great opportunity to increase service levels to our customers in a growing southern Minnesota market,” Randy Olinger, Viking Electric’s Mankato operations manager, said in the announcement. “We’re excited to expand our footprint and grow along with our customers in and around Mankato.”
The Mankato branch is one of 10 Viking locations in the state; it also operates two locations in Illinois and 11 in Wisconsin.
