Summit Electric Names 31-Year Company Veteran as CIO & CTO

Sheila Hernandez, who has been with Summit Electric Supply since 1987 in various marketing roles, has been named the company's new chief information and technology officer.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Sheila Hernandez has been named the new Vice President, Chief Information and Technology Officer for Summit Electric Supply. Hernandez joined Summit in 1987 in a part-time, student intern, marketing role while completing her undergraduate degree at the University of New Mexico. After assuming a full-time position and earning her MBA degree, Hernandez proceeded to take on the roles of Marketing Coordinator, Director of Marketing and Vice President of Marketing, before being named to her new role.

In addition to building an award-winning marketing department, Hernandez led Summit’s internet presence, mobile app development, master product data management system and market data analytics program. She will continue to be based in the company’s Albuquerque headquarters and will report to Victor Jury Jr., Chairman and CEO of the company.

Hernandez is active in the industry, serving on numerous committees, panels, and task forces of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). She spent nine years on the marketing committee and is a current member of the Futures Group Task Force for IMARK Group. She is a Gold Level graduate of NAED's Electrical Products Education Course (EPEC).

In her new role, Hernandez will be responsible for Summit’s information technology teams, including enterprise systems, infrastructure and operations, application development, data analytic platform, master product information management and the customer facing website,

Founded in 1977, the company operates service centers in 24 U.S. markets and in Dubai, UAE. Summit also has an international sales division and an EP&C division located in Houston, TX, as well as an industrial marine division located in New Orleans, LA.
