The Big 50 has long been one of the signature features of Industrial Distribution. The annual listing of the 50 biggest distributors in the field both reflects that state of play and helps companies set their agenda. And now we’re refining the process of determining the Big 50 in order to provide an even more accurate picture of the industry.
Beginning this year, the Big 50 will be determined by a more robust application process that allows companies to share facets of their business other than simple revenues. An in-depth entry form goes beyond the balance book to draw on information about company culture, employee retention strategies, technological innovation, and much more.
A panel of expert judges will then evaluate the qualitative and quantitative data to set the 2019 Big 50.
"There is so much more inside an organization's effectiveness beyond its revenues," explains Joyceann Garippa, VP of Content & Events for Industrial Distribution. "The application allows for a better understanding of the inner workings of an industrial distributor company and how it plans to grow its current business model in the future. We are incredibly excited to be launching this new process, which allows for far more integrity and competition in the industrial distribution space."
The Big 50 will take its regular space in the September issue of Industrial Distribution, but the proper announcement of the honored companies will take place at the first Industrial Distribution Leadership Summit, held September 16-17, 2019 at the Hilton O'Hare in Chicago.
Applications for the 2019 Big 50 must be submitted by Monday, May 20, 2019. The entry form is available and can be submitted online.
