CHICAGO — Recruiting, retaining, motivating and training employees continues to be an overwhelming challenge for industrial distributors. The collaborative efforts of the PTDA Foundation’s Industrial Careers Pathway (ICP) program in building awareness of industrial distribution careers continue to garner unprecedented financial support, surpassing all expectations in 2016 with a final total of nearly $387,000. This was more than nine percent higher than the funds raised in 2015, demonstrating an increasing commitment from the industry in reaching the future industrial distribution workforce.

According to Barbara Ross, 2016 PTDA Foundation Fund Drive co-chair, Garlock Sealing Technologies (Palmyra, NY), “Industrial distribution is an incredibly rewarding career for anyone — whether in sales, marketing, product technology or inventory management. The funds raised for this initiative are working to get that message across to the next generation to enter the workforce.”

Bob Callahan, also serving as 2016 PTDA Foundation Fund Drive co-chair, SENQCIA MAXCO (Elmhurst, Ill.), said the 2017 Vanguard campaign was kicked off at the recent PTDA 2016 Industry Summit in San Diego, Calif. He said, “The 2017 Vanguard contributors are the leaders of our industry. They are companies and individuals who want to insure the industry’s continued success. We are off to an amazing start — more than 30 percent ahead of last year. I am confident we will surpass last year’s number.”
