Suburban Detroit fastener and class C components distributor General Fasteners Company — now known simply as “GF” — has named a new company president.

The company announced the promotion of John Hickey, formerly its vice president of strategic operations and sales, in a post to social media last week. GF officials said that Hickey has been a “driving force” behind the company’s operations, growth and culture.

“I’m honored to step into this role and continue building on GF’s legacy of reliability, innovation and partnership going forward,” Hickey said in the announcement.

The 70-year-old distributor rebranded to GF last year to reflect its evolution “beyond fasteners” into “a trusted partner in global supply chain management.”
