Massachusetts abrasives manufacturer Rex-Cut Abrasives has promoted Vice President of Operations Nuno Oliveira to be the company’s new CEO, officials announced Tuesday.

Oliveira, who previously served as operations manager and production manager at the company, succeeds Bob Costa, who led Rex-Cut as president since 2017 and spent 46 years in total with the business.

Rex-Cut, founded in 1928 and based in Fall River, Massachusetts, provides cotton fiber, non-woven and specialty abrasive solutions to metalworking customers across the globe. The company has been owned by its employees since 2008.

“I look forward to working with our employee-owners to strengthen operations, support customers and position Rex-Cut for long-term success,” Oliveira said in a statement.
