Winsupply Inc. announced Wednesday that it has added a longtime Ferguson sales leader to pursue “market share growth across major metropolitan areas.”
Ken Resuta joined the construction and industrial supply distributor as its regional development manager in late September after a 35-year tenure at the plumbing and industrial supply giant. In his new role, Winsupply officials said, he will work with Director of Talent & Strategic Acquisitions Steve Coen and the broader Winsupply Local Company Group to launch new Winsupply “local company” subsidiaries in large U.S. markets.
The initiative will initially focus on the Philadelphia area before expanding to additional cities. Resuta resides near Philadelphia and has managed Ferguson’s operations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and New York.
"After 35 years in wholesale distribution, you rarely get the chance to reshape a market from the ground up with a model like this,” Resuta said in the announcement. “What excites me most is Winsupply’s true commitment to local decision-making and ownership.”
Winsupply’s local company model establishes subsidiaries that are majority-owned by the distributor with minority stakes owned by those businesses’ leaders.
"Ken brings a rare combination of deep industry expertise and proven growth leadership," said Local Company Group President Rob Ferguson. "He is precisely the leader we need to drive our presence forward in key metropolitan markets like Greater Philadelphia."
Winsupply is the no. 3 distributor on ID’s newest Big 50 List.
