WINDSOR, UK — Morgan Advanced Materials has added a new type of insulating fire brick (IFB) – the JM-HD (High-density) series – to its acclaimed range.

The bricks are made from Kaolin and high purity alumina which react together to form Mullite during the firing process, where temperatures can reach in excess of 1400°C (2552°F).

The range has been tested and meets all of the ASTM quality assurance standards. They are available in a wide range of standard and special shapes in JM 25 HD, JM 26 HD, JM 28 HD and JM 30 HD grades.

Morgan IFB products reportedly provide refractory qualities, consistent permanent linear change (PLC), thermal shock resistance and low thermal conductivity. The products are used for a variety of applications across a number of industries, including the ceramic, chemical processing, glass and iron sectors.
