Amazon's physical expansion continues to heat up, with the e-tailer giant announcing two more planned fulfillment centers over the past week. The company will be adding a facility in North Haven, CT, and another in Thornton, CO.

Announced June 8, the North Haven fulfillment center — located in the south-central part of Connecticut — will create more than 1,500 full-time jobs and will occupy 855,000-square feet. Amazon currently has Connecticut facilities in Wallingford and Windsor.

Amazon's new facility in Thornton, CO — a northern suburb of Denver — will also span 855,000-square feet and will be the company's second location in the state, and its first robotics facility. That location will also create more than 1,500 new fill-time jobs.

With those two fulfillment centers, Amazon has now announced plans for 13 new facilities so far in 2017. That includes the company's Air Hub planned at the Northern Kentucky Airport.
