GREENSBORO, N.C.—Tencarva Machinery Company, headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., recently announced the acquisition of the assets of GPM Industries Inc., with headquarters in Macon, Ga., and a shop in Savannah, Ga., and GPM Environmental, Inc., their municipal group, with an office in the Atlanta area.

According to Rod Lee, Tencarva president, Glenn Robinson, former owner and president of both companies, will be working with Tencarva Machinery Company as a consultant for five years. The two acquired entities have become the GPM Division of Tencarva and its first locations in Georgia. This Georgia team includes 27 employees in Macon, Ga.; 8 employees in Savannah, Ga.; and 9 employees in Alpharetta, Ga., in the Atlanta market area.

Lee points out, “GPM represents many of the fine manufacturers with whom Tencarva has existing relationships, such as Goulds, John Crane, Lightnin, and ITT ProServices. They have a strong service business and a customer-focused culture that is very compatible with Tencarva’s.” Lee continues, “We are proud to welcome the GPM group to the Tencarva family. We expect a mutually beneficial relationship. We have known and respected many of the GPM team for years and have worked in concert with them on a number of occasions. This cooperation and coordination will be enhanced with the common ownership.”

Robinson explains, “I selected Tencarva because of its fine tradition of employee ownership and its care of its employees. It is an excellent fit from a philosophical standpoint, a customer-focused point of view, product line compatibility and geographical benefit .”
