Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer explains that the U.S. economy and unemployment problems are worse than Washington has let on. According to Spitzer, the real unemployment rate in this country is around 12.9 percent, as opposed to 9.6 percent, which was the figure released in the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report. Spitzer's figures suggests that 1 in 8 members of the U.S. workforce is currently without a job.
