Spectronics (Westbury, NY) has introduced OIL-GLO™ 50, a fluorescent dye designed for detecting leaks in petroleum or synthetic-based fluid systems. OIL-GLO™ 50 pinpoints leaks in a wide variety of oil-based fluid systems. Examples include hydraulic fluid, lubrication fluid, compressor oil, engine oil, and gearbox oil. OIL-GLO™ 50 features a new fluorescent dye that glows bright red to detect even the smallest leaks in fluid systems, according to the company. When added to an oil-based system, it will not damage any of the fluid’s properties or system components. The dye can remain safely in the system once the detection process is complete.
