Wolseley Announces Management Changes In Nordics, C. Europe

Ole, who is succeeding CEO Weirsoe, joined Wolseley as a result of the DT acquisition and has been in his current role since 2009 . . .

Wolseley plc has today announced that Steen Weirsoe is to retire as CEO for the Group’s Nordics and Central Europe regions with effect from 1 August 2012.  He will be succeeded by Ole Mikael Jensen, who is presently Managing Director for Central Europe.

Steen joined Wolseley following the Group’s acquisition of DT Group in 2006, which is a leading distributor of building materials in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. He has played a key role in the Company’s senior leadership team and as a member of Wolseley’s Executive Committee over the past six years.  Ole also joined Wolseley as a result of the DT acquisition and has been in his current role since 2009.  Previously he held a number of senior management positions in sourcing and supply chain within the Nordic region after joining the business in 1999. On taking up his new position Ole will also join Wolseley’s Executive Committee and will report to the Group’s CEO, Ian Meakins.

Commenting on the changes Ian Meakins Chief Executive of Wolseley plc said: ‘I would like to thank Steen for the enormous contribution he has made to both DT Group and Wolseley since he joined the Company and we wish him well for his retirement.  We are highly fortunate to have a successor of the calibre of Ole Mikael Jensen and he brings a wealth of sector and international experience to the role.  I would like to congratulate him on his appointment.’
