The Grainger Foundation recently donated $20,000 in December and another $10,000 in February towards Blackhawk Technical College’s (BTC) Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in Milton, WI.
Phase one of the south-central Wisconsin new facility started in August, which hosted the welding, industrial mechanic and computer numeric control programs.
Phase two is expected to be completed for the 2015 fall semester and will include HVAC, electro-mechanical technology, industrial engineering, computer service technician and civil engineering programs.
The Rock River Times reports the donation was recommended by Bill Koenig and Jacob Chandler from the Grainger Janesville and Madison offices, respectively.
The Grainger Foundation, an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, IL, was established in 1949 by William W. Grainger, founder of W.W. Grainger, Inc. (No. 3 on Industrial Distribution's 2014 Big 50 List). W.W. Grainger has has been a part of Janesville business for more than 45 years.
