Chicago private equity firm Shore Capital Partners on Tuesday named a new executive operating partner that the firm said would lead its efforts to build “a premier value-added industrial automation distributor.”
Aurelio Banda joined the firm after serving as president and CEO of sensor, fieldbus and connectivity products provider Turck USA. Previously, he led Motion’s automation business and was CEO at PHD Inc. and Beckhoff Automation North America.
Banda also founded engineering and distribution company Controls Plus Inc., and served on the board of Ondex Automation, Shore’s “industrial automation systems integrator platform” formed in 2024.
Shore officials said that Banda would develop a “commercial and operating strategy” and oversee “sourcing and evaluating prospective acquisition partners.”
“What sets Aurelio apart is a combination of deep technical fluency across the automation hardware stack, first-hand experience in building strong channel relationships at both the manufacturer and distributor level, and a track record of scaling businesses,” John Sznewajs, partner and co-head of Shore Capital’s industrials fund, said in a statement.
"Shore takes a differentiated approach to the industrial automation landscape and understands the strategic discipline required to operate as a true channel partner to manufacturers and end users," added Banda.
