Winsupply announced Friday that it has named a new leader for recruiting and coaching the operators of its “local company” subsidiaries on the East Coast.
Jesse Backman, the president of Winsupply’s Greenville Noland Co. in North Carolina for nearly a decade, will support new local companies and presidents with “substantial top- and bottom-line growth opportunities,” the company said.
Backman has mentored graduates of Winsupply’s Management Development Training Program for several years, and leads a peer group of more than one dozen fellow local company leaders. He joined Winsupply through its veterans recruiting program in 2015, then trained at Savannah Winsupply and led Fayetteville Noland Co. before taking over Greenville Noland in 2017.
“The overall impact of helping future and current leaders, I found, is my purpose within Winsupply,” Backman said in a statement. “I exist to coach and create leaders to solve difficult problems.”
Winsupply owns its local companies, but the presidents of those businesses also have minority stakes in the enterprise. The Ohio-based distributor also named a new area leader for the West Coast last month.
Winsupply ranks at no. 3 on ID’s latest Big 50 list.
