Automation and industrial solutions distributor Tavoron announced Monday that it has acquired Doig Corp., a longtime suburban Milwaukee distributor of factory automation solutions.

Doig, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, provides motion control, robotics, sensor, vision, safety, electrical control and pneumatic systems to both OEMs and end users. Tavoron officials said the deal strengthens its automation distribution segment and bolster its presence in the Upper Midwest.

“Doig strengthens Tavoron’s ability to serve customers across an expanding geographic footprint as a true single source for factory and industrial automation,” Tavoron CEO Nicholas Martino said in the announcement. “Their strong supplier relationships, disciplined operations and customer-first approach align with our focus on delivering a better buying experience.”

Doig will maintain its staff and operations in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, but shift to the Tavoron brand. Doig President Eric Kraus said that the deal would provide its customers with “access to a broader range of automation products and an easier way to do business.”

The deal is Tavoron’s third acquisition so far this year; the company added Michigan motion control providers DP Technologies Group and DP Brown of Saginaw earlier this month, and South Carolina automation distributor Seltrol, along with subsidiary B.W. Clark, in late January.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
