Optimas International hopes to identify potential opportunities to expand through acquisitions at a fastener industry event later this year, company officials said Thursday.
Mike Tuffy, the company’s CEO, plans to meet owners and stakeholders of U.S.-based businesses that are “considering the sale or divestment” of their non-U.S. operations at the International Fastener Expo in October. The company said that it is interested in operations with established market presences in the U.K., Europe and the Asia-Pacific region serving a range of industries, including the industrial equipment, construction, aerospace, defense, energy and marine sectors.
Optimas International was sold by former parent Optimas Solutions to European private equity firm Exponent, and now operates as a standalone distributor based in the U.K. It is not seeking to acquire operations “that trade within the Americas markets.”
The company said that the announcement is part of the newly separate company’s “Partnership Growth Programme,” an initiative announced earlier this year to acquire established industrial distribution and specialist engineering businesses.
“For owners considering their future, Optimas International offers a long-term partner with the financial backing, regional infrastructure and operational capability to build on what they have already created,” Tuffy said in a statement.
The IFE is scheduled for Oct. 7-9 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix.
