Fastener manufacturer Morito Scovill Americas has acquired a maker of fastener attaching machines and automated assembly systems, company officials announced.
Morito Scovill officials said that the addition of Connecticut-based Edward Segal Inc. would strengthen its value-added solutions in the apparel and specialty markets. The company, which does business as Scovill Fasteners, makes high-performance fasteners for light industrial applications and apparel.
Edward Segal, meanwhile, would gain access to expanded manufacturing, sourcing and operational capabilities. It will continue to operate with “its existing team and customer relationships” as part of Morito Scovill.
“The purchase of Edward Segal Inc. reflects Morito Scovill Americas long-standing dedication to customer-centered solutions and allows us to support the needs of our partners around the world,” Morito Scovill Americas President Bunki Yano said in a statement.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
