Oregon fastener supplier Portland Bolt & Manufacturing is once again making a bolt-on acquisition on the East Coast — its fourth in just over two years.
The company announced Thursday that it has acquired Threadline Products Inc., a Charlotte, North Carolina, manufacturer of custom anchor bolts, threaded rod and fabricated structural steel products.
Portland Bolt officials said that Threadline offers custom fabrication, fast turnaround times and “exceptional” customer service to the construction distribution, steel fabrication and federal transportation markets. The move, the company added, would further expand both its overall manufacturing capabilities and its presence in the eastern U.S. The company, which dates back to 1912, acquired Southern Anchor Bolt in South Carolina in 2024, then added Vermont’s Applied Bolting Technology and Upstate New York’s Bennett Bolt Works last year.
Portland Bolt said that it will maintain Threadline’s operations and staff at the Charlotte facility, which will become Portland Bolt Charlotte over “the coming weeks.” Threadline co-owner Josh Miller will remain with the business “to help ensure a smooth transition.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Combining Charlotte’s fabrication and threading capabilities with our in-house hot-dip galvanizing capacity in South Carolina allows us to keep more work within the Portland Bolt network, shorten lead times, and offer customers a broader, more integrated solution,” Portland Bolt CEO Blake Ray said in a statement.
“As we have grown Threadline, we have remained committed to quality, quick turnarounds, and putting our customers and employees first,” added co-owner Jennifer Miller. “Joining Portland Bolt is the right next step because they share those same values.”
