Fastener and Class C components distributor Lubker Distribution has acquired “certain assets” of fellow Southeastern Pennsylvania company Fastening Products of Lancaster, company officials announced Friday.
Lubker officials said that Fastening Products supplies OEMs and fabricators with standard and specialty fasteners — including steel, stainless steel, brass, nylon and others — as well as kitting solutions and other services. The company was founded as Welk Industrial Products Company by Robert Welk in 1971; his son Curt Welk subsequently led it for over 40 years until he passed away unexpectedly in 2018.
Curt’s wife Mary and son Adam currently operate the business; Adam Welk and inside sales rep Jim Holland will assist with the transaction to Lubker and remain as “the liaison between previous Fastening Products of Lancaster customers, suppliers and Lubker Distribution.” Its Lancaster, Pennsylvania, operations, the company said, will be relocated to Lubker’s headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Lubker Distribution is excited to welcome Fastening Products of Lancaster associates, customers, and suppliers into the Lubker family,” Lubker officials said in a statement.
Lubker says it distributes fasteners, assemblies and related Class C components to industrial OEMs worldwide primarily through a vendor-managed inventory model.
