Machesney Park, IL — Owners of Field Fastener, a full service distributor of fastener products and global provider of inventory management systems, broke ground today on a 43,000 square foot addition to their existing office and warehouse facility.
The company has experienced steady growth since being purchased by Jim and Bill Derry in 1990. Currently employing 55 team members, Field Fastener will hire at least 15 more team members in the next two years.
“Our success is rooted in teamwork. The better our people work together, the more efficient we can be,” said Jim Derry, executive vice-president of Field Fastener. “This addition will further facilitate that teamwork and help us continue the growth and success we’ve experienced.”
The addition will have a high-tech feel and include new loading docks, as well as a quality lab to streamline process flow and improve efficiency. For employees, the space will include a workout facility and a multi-purpose great room complete with a fireplace, big screen televisions and video games for employees to enjoy during breaks.
Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Director Warren Ribley announced that the state is providing a business investment package to help Field Fastener Supply Co. expand its operations. The package includes Growing Economy tax credits and Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP) job training funds that will help enhance the skills of the company’s workforce.
