COLUMBUS, OHIO — Columbus-based maintenance, repair and operations distributor Kimball Midwest received an award from the Conway Center for Family Business for its efforts in corporate communications on Nov. 9.
The award, presented during the Conway Center’s 17th Annual Family Business Awards and Expo, recognizes local, family-owned businesses’ ability to maintain an open and engaging flow of communication with its employees. Kimball Midwest received the communications award in the Large Companies category.
“It’s extremely important to recognize the accomplishments of Central Ohio’s family businesses,” said Dick Emens, executive director of the Conway Center for Family Business. “They’re the foundation of our community and a key contributor to a healthy and vibrant Central Ohio economy. We’re fortunate to have many great family-owned businesses in the Central Ohio region – we estimate at least 6,000 – and our 190+ members employ over 17,000 hard-working people in Central Ohio.”
