Sonepar USA, a subsidiary of France-based Sonepar Group, has made two recent announcements with the news that Sean Leahy will join the company's senior management team as the new President of Sonepar USA Key Accounts, and that the company has acquired Denver, CO-based Quality Electrical Distribution (QED).
Leahy will be responsible for developing the Sonepar USA Key Accounts platform. Although Sean will focus on core electric opportunities, he will also work closely with the leadership in Hagemeyer/Industrial Distribution Group on shared-selling efforts in the industrial, safety and integrated supply markets. IDG, acquired by Sonepar last September, was No. 22 on Industrial Distribution's 2014 Big 50 List.
Sean comes to Sonepar USA with a background in the electrical distribution industry. He served as President and CEO of Vanguard National Alliance for one and a half years, and President of Vantage Group for 18 years.
On the acquisition front, Quality Electrical Distribution is is a regional electric distributor serving residential and commercial contractors, industrial facilities, and OEM businesses. QED serves its customers from 13 locations throughout the six states of North Dakota, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming.
