Wisconsin-based material handling equipment distributor Wolter Inc. has acquired a suburban Chicago provider of industrial storage solutions in an effort to help meet “surging demand” in that region.
CSI Materials Handling, located in Downers Grove, Illinois, provides pallet racking and engineered storage systems, as well as installation services, Wolter officials said.
In addition to strengthening its position in Chicagoland, CEO Jerry Weidmann said that CSI’s engineering and installation capabilities would allow Wolter’s customers to “move faster from design to execution” amid high local demand for warehouse capacity.
“The addition of CSI Materials Handling enhances our ability to support customers across the full warehouse lifecycle,” Weidmann said in the announcement.
CSI’s Downers Grove facility and staff will remain in operation while joining Wolter’s storage and handling segment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
