QXO Inc. announced Wednesday that the building products distributor has completed its acquisition of Kodiak Building Partners.
QXO originally announced the agreement to buy Kodiak from private equity firm Court Square Capital Partners in February. The $2.25 billion deal is the second major acquisition for QXO, which was formed in 2024 and added Beacon in an $11 billion transaction last year.
Kodiak co-founder Steve Swinney will lead QXO’s newly established LBM division, the company added in Wednesday’s announcement.
“Today marks a definitive capstone for Kodiak as we join QXO and become a part of the most exciting company in building products,” Swinney said.
A QXO spokesperson, meanwhile, noted that the deal also represents the company’s entry into the lumber segment.
“By acquiring Kodiak, we’re providing our customers with a wider range of product offerings and value-added services,” QXO Chairman and CEO Brad Jacobs said in a statement. “In addition, we expect the deal to be highly accretive to 2026 earnings and we remain on track to achieve our goal of $50 billion in annual revenue.”
