Plumbing and HVAC distributor Hills Distribution announced Monday that it has added a fourth subsidiary: Connecticut distributor Bender Plumbing Supply.
Hills, formed by private equity firm Grove Mountain Partners after its 2024 acquisition of Plimpton & Hills, said that the addition of Bender would further enhance its footprint across the Northeast. The company previously added New York state distributors Coastal Supply and RJ Murray last year.
Bender, based in New Haven, Connecticut, operates six locations and is a fourth-generation family-owned company. Max Bender, the company’s president, will continue to lead the business with the current executive staff.
"When we considered the next chapter for our business, it was critical to find a partner who shared our values and respected what has made Bender successful for nearly 80 years," Bender said in a statement. "Hills Distribution and Grove Mountain Partners stood out for their integrity, long-term mindset and commitment to supporting our people, customers and brand.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Bender has built an outstanding business over decades, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth as part of the platform,” Hills Chairman and Grove Mountain Partner Stephen Fraser said in the announcement.
