Triad Technologies announced Sunday that it has acquired filtration and fueling components distributor Filtration Corporation of America.
FCA, based in suburban Chicago, serves fixed-base operators, storage terminals and OEMs in the aerospace industry. Company officials said that the transaction would deepen Triad’s position in aviation and fuel filtration, as well as add “multiple Parker Hannifin-owned brands” to its existing portfolio, including Velcon and Meggitt.
Triad CEO Greg Wissman said in a statement that he also expects additional investments and acquisitions in the company’s filtration business “in the coming years.”
“Filtration is an area we have been deliberate about expanding, and FCA gives us both the product breadth and the technical depth to do it well,” Wissman said. “FCA has spent nearly five decades earning the trust of the aviation fueling community, and pairing that reputation with Triad’s distribution platform allows us to deliver a wider range of filtration and fluid handling solutions than either company could provide on its own.”
The deal closed on Oct. 1; financial terms were not disclosed. FCA’s existing staff will remain with the business.
FCA co-owners Gordon and Brian Tompkinson said that joining Triad would give its customers “access to a significantly broader set of products and technical resources while keeping the same level of service they have relied on for many years.”
Triad, which is owned by Shorehill Capital, is a provider of hydraulic, pneumatic, electromechanical, filtration, sealing and lubrication products. It operates 33 locations across the Midwest and Ohio Valley.
