B&D Industrial, parent company to B&D Technologies, B&D Service and Scale Systems, is pleased to announce that Linda Miller, vice president of IT, was named recipient of the 2019 BSA Lifetime Achievement Award. This prestigious award recognizes top industry leaders that have been actively involved in the Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) for at least 25 years. Miller has a passion for BSA and has been one of the strongest advocates and voices of the association for over the past three decades.
Miller joins Andy Nations (2013 recipient) and John D. Nations (2005 recipient) as B&D Industrial winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award. John Nations founded B&D in 1947 and Andy Nations has been CEO since 1993.
“Linda Miller was one of the last B&D employees that John Nations personally hired," notes Andy Nations. "He was always good at finding good people, and he certainly did that with Linda”
Miller joined B&D Industrial (then Bearings & Drives, Inc.) in 1975 as an administrator/secretary and went on to learn programming as the company implemented a computer system in the late 1970s. She was promoted to manager of IT for the company and later also became manager of HR. In 1996, she became vice president of IT/HR, only transitioning her HR responsibilities 3 years ago. She has been a key contributor and influencer on the B&D executive team for more than 20 years, as well as a past president of the BSA.
Previously, Miller received industry recognition by being awarded the PTDA Foundation’s Wendy B. McDonald Award in 2016. This prestigious award goes to women in the Bearing & Power Transmission industry that exemplify leadership and integrity in all business relationships.
Linda has made a lasting impact on B&D and the industry as a whole. She is retiring at the end of June 2019 and will be dearly missed by her colleagues at B&D and throughout the industry.
