Fastenal’s October sales were up 11.6% compared to the same month last year, the Minnesota fastener and industrial supply distributor said Thursday.

The company — no. 4 on ID’s 2025 Big 50 listreported $771 million in sales last month, up from nearly $693 million last October.

Sales were up in every product category and geographic region on a daily average basis, including a 12.8% year-over-year jump in fastener sales and an 8.9% increase in safety products. Fastenal’s sales in heavy manufacturing and other manufacturing segments rose by 11.5% and 13.2%, respectively, while non-residential construction sales were up by 10.9%.

The numbers showed sales growth continuing into the final quarter of the year after Fastenal posted a third-quarter increase of 11.7%.

Fastenal also added a “Direct and Indirect Materials Reporting Update” to its October sales report, which indicated that the company would begin including additional product categories in its financial disclosures — including a “more comprehensive breakdown” of its business aimed at the OEM and MRO markets. Those changes are expected to begin in the current quarter.

“We have enhanced our analytical capabilities through significant investments in our customer master data management system,” the company wrote in the statement. “This has enabled us to deliver more granular insights into our customer site performance.”
