
Fastenal's July sales were 15.5% higher than the same month last year, the company said Thursday.
The Minnesota-based fastener and industrial supply giant recorded net sales of $825.8 million during the month. Sales rose on a daily average basis across all customer markets and geographic regions, including an 18.7% increase in sales to heavy manufacturers and a 14.8% jump in the U.S.
Sales in the OEM segment were up 15.7%, while those to MRO customers rose by 16.1%.
The July report follows a second quarter with a 14.7% increase in sales year-over-year, but a gross margin that slipped by 70 basis points and a flat operating margin.
