Stellar Industrial Supply announced Wednesday that it will restructure its commercial division into separate teams focused on sales and business development.

The Washington state MRO and tool distributor said that its inside sales, business development and strategic account staff would be included in a new customer acquisition and business development team led by Michael Skramstad, the company’s former supply chain solutions vice president who was appointed VP of customer acquisition and business development.

Senior Vice President of Sales Colin Brown, meanwhile, will continue to lead the company’s regional sales VPs, account relationship managers and specialists.

Stellar officials said that splitting up the sales and business development staff would allow for “enhanced focus and alignment of efforts” in their respective fields.

“With this new structure, we can put better focus on driving value to existing partners and we can also focus on more rapid expansion into the markets we serve,” Stellar President and CEO John Wiborg said in a statement. “Michael Skramstad is a highly able, experienced leader in our industry and I have the highest confidence in him to deliver on the promise of this structure.”
