Fastenal on Wednesday reported a 14.3% increase in April sales compared to the same month last year.

The company posted $790.5 million in net sales in its latest monthly sales disclosure, led by a 16.2% increase in its OEM-related sales. Sales to MRO customers were up 13.7%; both customer segments were paced by sales of the company’s fasteners and hardware.

Heavy manufacturing, Fastenal’s largest end market, saw the company’s sales climb 17.7%, while other manufacturing sales were up 10.5%. Sales to the non-residential construction market climbed by more than 20%.

Fastenal’s U.S. sales, which accounted for some 83% of its total, were up 13.2%; sales rose by 18.6% across Mexico and Canada combined and by 26.6% in other international markets.

The April results followed a 12.4% increase in sales in the first quarter of the year — but the first three months of 2026 also saw a decline in gross margin amid “unfavorable price/costs.”

Fastanel is the no. 4 distributor on ID’s latest Big 50 list.
