NetPlus Alliance Names Jennifer Murphy New President

Murphy is the fifth generation to guide the successful Lockport, New York based company, following in the footsteps of family members that included her father, great-great uncles and grandfather.

Lockport, NY - NetPlus Alliance, a buying group for industrial and contractor supplies distributors, has announced Jennifer Murphy as the company’s new President.

Murphy is the fifth generation to guide the successful Lockport, New York based company, following in the footsteps of family members that included her father, great-great uncles and grandfather. Murphy’s father Dan Judge had served as President since 2002, when the most recent chapter of the company’s rich, nearly 130-year history advanced along its current path as NetPlus Alliance. Dan Judge and his over 40 years of industry knowledge will continue to serve NetPlus Alliance in a leadership capacity role as Chairman and Chief Financial Officer.

Murphy has been with NetPlus Alliance since 2006, serving first as Marketing Director and most recently as Vice President of Marketing & Chief Operating Officer. Working for NetPlus Alliance has not only been a family affair, having grown up and learned at a very young age about the inner workings of the industrial supply industry, but a homecoming for Murphy, a Lockport native and current resident.

As the new President of NetPlus Alliance, Jennifer Murphy seeks to advance the company’s current work of making steady progress toward large improvements in its members’ NetPlus experience. “It comes down to relationships and providing the tools for success in our industry,” said Murphy. “Those tools are not just the literal hand, mechanical and powered tools of the industry, but in leveraging technology, developing marketing tools for our distributors and enhancing back-office systems that make reporting easy and accessible. But as much as technology is important, I can’t emphasize enough the power of face-to-face communication and relationship building. My goal is to deepen engagement, listening and implementing resources our distributors and suppliers need to be competitive as a vitally successful part of the American supply chain.”

To that end Murphy sees the hosting of more face-to-face, in person events and engagements at a growing number of NetPlus Alliance regional and national meetings. The company is gearing up for its first Annual Meeting, to be held March 16-18, 2014 in Las Vegas.

With a rebounding industrial economy, there is certainly work that needs to be done. “Economic conditions still pose challenges for many distributors and our focus will be to provide the confidence and support they need to grow in new and exciting ways,” continued Murphy. “It’s our job to support them in any way possible, allowing them to explore new opportunities through the programs we deliver through our loyal supplier partners. It’s a challenging road ahead, but we’re prepared for it and energized to meet it head on. I look forward to partnering with the great team we have here at NetPlus and all our member partners around the country.”

Jennifer Murphy is a St. Bonaventure graduate with degrees in Business Administration and Marketing, as well as a program graduate of the University at Buffalo Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL). She is also a member of the national group W.I.S.E., Women Industrial Supply Executives – a networking group within the Industrial Supply Association of accomplished and influential women from the industry.

A wife and mother of three children, Murphy enjoys running, coaching swimming, and volunteering in the community with organizations that include serving on the board of directors for the YWCA of Niagara.
