Valves and fittings manufacturer NIBCO Inc. has acquired valve automation provider UniTorq Actuators and Controls, company officials announced earlier this month.

NIBCO officials called UniTorq “one of the largest pneumatic actuator brands in the world,” and said that the move would expand its presence across both industrial and commercial markets. In addition to pneumatic actuators, UniTorq also provides electric actuators, controls and accessories.

“This acquisition enhances our ability to serve customers, accelerates our strategic objectives, and positions us for long-term success in the markets we serve,” NIBCO President and CEO Ashley Martin said in a statement.

NIBCO added that it would invest in UniTorq’s IT platform following the acquisition. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
