NEFCO Corp. announced this week the acquisition of Blume Supply Inc., an industrial equipment supplier in Charlotte, North Carolina. Headquartered in East Hartford, Connecticut, NEFCO has expanded its reach in recent years. The addition of Blume Supply gives the industrial distributor its second outpost in North Carolina. It also has a location in Greensboro.
“As a family business, we try to find acquisition opportunities that align with our core values and close-knit culture,” offered David Gelles, president of NEFCO Corp, in a statement. “Blume Supply meets that criteria perfectly.”
Blume Supply has a 20,000 square foot facility in Charlotte, including retail space and an area for repair services. In promotional materials, Blume touts the low turnover of its staff, noting the average tenure of sales personnel exceeds 20 years.
The acquisition of Blume Supply gives NEFCO 11 distribution hubs up and down the East Coast. In addition to the main location and the two spots in North Carolina, NEFCO has a physical footprint in Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
