Winsupply plans to add a new distribution hub and expand two others in a bid to support and scale its “family of companies” model in the coming years.

The construction and industrial supply distributor — no. 3 on ID’s latest Big 50 — purchased a 1.17 million-square-foot facility in Atlanta, officials announced Monday. That announcement also outlined a 254,000-square-foot expansion of its Oklahoma City hub and a roughly 200,000-square-foot expansion of the distribution center in its hometown of Dayton, Ohio.

In total, the projects will add a combined 1.6 million square feet of capacity over the next two years. Winsupply said that the additions are “specifically engineered” to support its “local companies,” which are majority-owned by Winsupply with minority stakes controlled by local management.

“We are ensuring that the 680-plus entrepreneurs who lead Winsupply local companies today — and those who will lead them tomorrow — have the resources they need to win,” Winsupply Inc. President Jeff Dice said in the announcement. “This investment allows us to perpetuate our unique business model and offer even more hard-working, courageous owners a path to success.”

“By strengthening our infrastructure, we are removing supply chain friction and ensuring Winsupply local companies have the product depth and availability required to remain competitive in their markets,” added Robert DiTommaso, president of Winsupply Support Services Group.
