Minneapolis, MN - Insite Software, a provider of B2B eCommerce platforms and shipping solutions with more than 950 customers worldwide, today announced the promotion of Steve Shaffer to the post of chief executive officer. Shaffer is a recognized leader in the Software as a Service (SaaS) software community and has proven operational expertise and a history of enabling rapid growth. He also will continue to serve on the Insite Software board of directors.
The Insite team has grown quickly over the past 18 months in response to increased market demand for B2B eCommerce and fulfillment solutions. The company has added more than 170 customers in the last 24 months, and is poised to be a dominant player in the rapidly expanding B2B eCommerce market. Industry analysts have estimated the total market size for B2B eCommerce to exceed $550 billion by 2015.
Prior this new appointment, Shaffer served as the chief revenue officer for Insite. Shaffer has 20 years of experience in sales/marketing and finance leadership. Previous to Insite, Shaffer served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Jobs2Web, which was acquired by SAP in 2011.
“This is a very positive move for Insite and demonstrates our desire to expand this business globally,” says Insite Software Founder Brian Strojny. The market opportunity for B2B eCommerce is significant and the timing is right to expand our team in a way which will provide significant value to our customers and industry partners.”
“Insite Software is extremely well positioned to capitalize on the significant B2B eCommerce market opportunity,” said Steve Shaffer, Insite Software CEO. “The company’s comprehensive and easy-to-deploy B2B eCommerce platform is built to meet the needs of manufacturers and distributors who are experiencing significant market disruption with the likes of AmazonSupply and Google Shopping for Suppliers entering the B2B eCommerce arena. I couldn’t be more optimistic about the company’s potential for expansion and growth and the opportunity to provide leadership and strategic vision as CEO.”
