Distribution Solutions Group has added Sean Dwyer, formerly the chief strategy and corporate development officer at building products distributor BlueLinx, as its senior vice president and head of M&A and strategy, company officials announced Monday.

Dwyer, who also led corporate development at paper and packaging company WestRock, has guided transactions worth more than $30 billion combined during his career, DSG officials said. DSG Chairman and CEO Bryan King said that the appointment “strengthens our ability to pursue strategic opportunities.”

“He brings deep industry insight, a disciplined approach to capital allocation, and a proven record of value creation,” King said in the announcement. “Sean is an excellent addition to our leadership team, and I am confident that he will enhance our M&A capabilities to drive DSG for continued success.”

Dwyer will report to DSG CFO Ron Knutson.

“We have meaningful opportunities ahead of us, and I look forward to collaborating with our teams to identify strategic opportunities that strengthen DSG and create long-term value for our shareholders,” Dwyer said.
