Colony Hardware is a distributor of tools, equipment, fasteners, supplies and safety products — as well as rental and repair services — to commercial construction and industrial accounts. Its website states the company stocks more than 25,000 different products from more than 750 different manufacturers.

Founded in 1982, Allied Fastener & Tool brands itself as a retailer for professional fastening systems, power tools and other construction products. Led by president Bob Helcher, the company offers jobsite service, warranty repairs, crew training and certification sessions, product demonstrations and safety instruction.

"We are very proud that the Allied employees and management team are joining Colony and we are also very excited about expanding our business in the Florida market," Colony Hardware Corporation president Michael Weiner said.

Colony lists 25 locations, including Allied's four Florida locations — Lake Worth, Orlando, Sarasota and Port St. Lucie. Florida is the 10th state Colony has expanded to, while the nine others are all in the U.S. northeast and midwest. Colony lists nine locations in Michigan; three in New York; and two each in Connecticut and Ohio.

The transaction was completed Feb. 16.
