Industrial gas distribution group Meritus Gas Partners announced last week that it has added two companies in a pair of major Western markets.
The company on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Wagner Welding Supply in suburban Denver, and said Wednesday that it has added Allied Gases & Welding Supplies near Phoenix.
Wagner, acquired by Meritus’ Buckeye Welding Supply subsidiary, will become Buckeye’s fifth location and “an additional outlet to serve our customers in northwest Denver.” Officials expect to expand its current lineup of industrial and medical gases to additional markets, including construction, aerospace and chemicals.
Allied, meanwhile, expands Meritus into Arizona, which officials noted has become an important market for semiconductors, electronics, aerospace and defense, data centers and other advanced manufacturing operations. The company provides industrial, specialty and beverage gases from five locations.
Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
“Arizona is home to a rapidly expanding industrial base with some of the strongest advanced manufacturing investments in the United States,” Meritus Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions Steve Byers said in a statement. "We believe this business is positioned for significant growth.”
