Rosa Leal Group Joins Sonepar Brasil

This company with sales of €85 million in 2011 will reinforce the leadership in electrical product wholesaling in Brazil

Rio de Janeiro based, Rosa Leal group (Centelha), joins Sonepar Brasil

Sonepar, the leading global distributor of electrical products, has just expanded its footprint in Brazil by linking up with Rosa Leal, the fourth biggest name in the Brazilian market with 12 operating companies and 16 branches.

This company with sales of €85 million in 2011 by joining Sonepar South America operations will reinforce the leadership in electrical product wholesaling in Brazil, a country where it has been operating since 2001.

The acquisition of Rosa Leal represents a logical step in Sonepar’s strategy of focusing investment on high-growth countries. In keeping with its overall approach, Sonepar has continued to make targeted acquisitions based on strong partnerships with local management teams.

We are confident that the teams of Rosa Leal, under the leadership of Pompeu Rosa and Miguel Leal, the two founders of the company, will bring a major contribution to our profitable overall growth in Brazil.

The enthusiasm and professional skill shown by the sales staff at its operating companies have earned Rosa Leal major recognition in the Brazilian market.  Rosa Leal’s presence in the north and east will bring Sonepar Brasil an expanded geographical footprint and the chance to serve our customers in a large part of the country.

In 10 Brazilian states that account for 80 percent of the country’s economic activity, Sonepar is now present through 12 operating companies: Centelha, Dimensional, DW, Eletronor, Emel, Petrocam, Proelt, Proex, Rosa Leal Painéis, Sandler, Tecnosisa and Walter Schmidt.

Sonepar extends a warm welcome to the 700 associates who are joining us from Rosa Leal entities.
