OTP Industrial Solutions Acquires Advanced Industrial Product

With the acquisition, OTP Industrial Solutions strengthens its ability to offer customers engineered automation system solutions provided by AIP’s highly trained associates.

Columbus, OH — OTP Industrial Solutions (#43 on the 2013 Big 50 List), a large industrial equipment distributor and service provider for pump, fluid power, power transmission, fluid handling, pneumatic and electrical applications, announces the acquisition of Advanced Industrial Products, Inc. (AIP), headquartered in Lexington, Ky., with office locations in Tennessee, West Virginia and Mississippi. AIP will become a division of OTP and continue to operate under the name Advanced Industrial Products.

“Our new relationship with OTP has opened the door to great growth opportunities for AIP and our staff,” said Dennis Stephens, head of the AIP division at OTP and former AIP owner. “The OTP team has warmly welcomed us, and our company is looking forward to a bright future working side-by-side with OTP to provide a more comprehensive set of advanced technical solutions to our customers.”

With the acquisition, OTP Industrial Solutions strengthens its ability to offer customers engineered automation system solutions provided by AIP’s highly trained associates. Combining OTP and AIP enables manufacturers to reduce their supplier base with product support for world-leading manufacturers of industrial automation, robotics and MRO components. With its technical engineering support, AIP can help customers design, engineer, install and start up new projects and make improvements to existing systems. AIP also provides hands-on training classes to customers taught by its own factory trained engineers.

“AIP is a very successful and well-respected industrial automation distributor. By combining the strength of OTP with the strength of AIP, we have the ability to better serve our customers with leading-edge industrial products and solutions provided by knowledgeable associates. Our new partnership provides great opportunities for the customers, associates and suppliers of both companies,” said Rob Webb, president of OTP Industrial Solutions. “We are pleased to have the former owners of AIP, Dennis and Lisa Stephens, remain with us as an integral part of our management team, overseeing the AIP division.”

AIP joins OTP’s more than 15 locations spread across the Midwest and in San Antonio, Texas. Under parent company Ohio Transmission Corporation, OTP Industrial Solutions has greatly expanded its operation by bringing together forward-thinking industrial distributors and service providers that represent the company’s core values and enhance OTP’s key supplier relationships, broad product support and expert technical services, which it provides to a fast-growing customer base.

“With its more than 30 dedicated technical associates and world-class product lines, AIP is an excellent addition to the OTP family. Working together will allow both companies to grow and continually improve the value delivered to customers, suppliers and associates. AIP strengthens our industrial automation business and is a terrific complement to our fluid power, power transmission and pump businesses,” said Ohio Transmission Corporation President and CEO Phil Derrow. “We recognize AIP as an industry leader committed to outstanding customer service, engineering and technical support, and we are proud to commence our partnership with AIP—a company that we can grow with into the future.”
