Purvis Industries Acquires Louisiana's Acadiana Bearing

The move is Purvis' second announced acquisition since the start of October, gaining a single-location distributor serving a wide range of bearings customers.

Dallas, Texas-based bearing and power transmission distributor Purvis Industries announced Tuesday that it has acquired Lafayette, Louisiana-based Acadiana Bearing, effective Nov. 1.

In business for more than 40 years, Acadiana has one location, serving customers ranging from oil & gas to sugar mills. Acadiana Rubber & Gasket will continue to operate under the ownership of Grover Dunphy at a separate location in Lafayette.

"We are excited to be able to bring on an outstanding organization such as Acadiana Bearing into the Purvis Industries family of companies," said Cameron Barker, VP of Operations for Purvis Industries. "They not only allow us to expand our presence, but also enable us to better serve customers in the Southern Louisiana marketplace."

“We are excited about his new chapter for Acadiana Bearing," Dunphy added. "Purvis Industries is the best match for our people as well as our customers.”

It's been an active 2015 for Purvis. On Oct. 2, it announced the acquisition of two Phoenix, Arizona-based companies, Industrial Mining Supply and Sun Belt Supply. Back in April, it acquired Farmington, New Mexico-based Animas Bearing.
